The original marriage record is hand written. The scribe had good handwriting, but it’s still not easy to tell if her middle name is June or Jane. Ancestry.com has it recorded as Jane, but when you look at the handwriting, it clearly looks like June. Since she was married in June, there are two examples of June written together. It sure looks like June. But I’ll leave it as Jane until I find another document recording her as Matilda June Salts. Ah, this is silly. She probably was Matilda June Salts. She was born in June and got married in June. Duh!
