Notes for William H. “Will” SALTS
Referred to by his half-sister’s family of Tennessee (Almira Virginia “Ella” Saltz Triplett’s family), as “Uncle Will”. It is believed that he had something to do with the sea, or went off to sea as a young man. On his death certificate it states that he was last living in the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Quincy, Adams County, Illinois.
54In the records for the cemetery, it says that he fought in the Spanish American War in Cuba.
57 His grave is marked GAR 1861-1865 and says that he was a veteran of the Cuba War.
56 However, the stone is actually now unreadable.
