Notes for William Truman “W.T.” SPRAGUE
In 1843 he with his parents moved to Missouri and settled in Lewis county near Williamstown.370

In 1876 they settled on a farm twelve miles south of Warrensburg near Burtville370, here they resided for about thrity-five years. In 1910 they moved to Warrensburg where they made their home until the death of Mr. Sprague.

He was a Civil War veteran.370 He was a Union soldier during for three and 1/2 years and was a member of Col. Gover Post G.A.R.370

WILLIAM T. SPRAGUE- a Civil War Veteran died at his home in Warrensburg on Feb. 2, 1928. He was born in Illinois on Nov. 27, 1838. In 1843 he with his parents moved to Mo and settled in Lewis county near Williamstown. On March 18, 1865 he married Miss Margaret Sproat. In 1876 he with his wife moved to a farm near Burtville where they lived for 36 years. In 1911 they moved to Warrensburg where they have resided since. He is survived by his wife and 5 children; A.E.Sprague of Springfield , Mo. , Mrs W.J .Kimzey and Mrs Henry G Greim of Warrensburg, Mrs Harlow Saults of Concordia and Mrs L.A. Corson of Windsor. All were at his bedside when death came . The deceased was a Union soldier during the civil war for a period of 3 and 1/2 years , was a member of Col. Grover Post G.A.R. After Mr Sprague and his family located at Burtville, he united with the Baptist Church at New Bethel and throughout his entire life he lived a good christian life. The funeral services were held at the Warrensburg Baptist church with the interment in the New Church Cemetery 7 miles south of Knob Noster. The pall bearers , grandsons and grand son's -in-law of the deceased were Kenneth Griem, Hugh Kimzey, Lee Saults, William Sprague, Lawrence Bail(-?),
and William Powers.

MRS MARGARET SPROAT SPRAGUE--died at the home of her daughter Mrs Lewis Corson in Windsor, Mo. on Nov. 14 1929. She was the daughter of William and Mary Sproat and was born in Somerest County , Penn. Sept. 9, 1849. In early childhood she with her parents moved to Lewis county, Mo. In 1866 she married William Truman Sprauge. They had 6 children.; Mrs Clara Kimsey, and Mrs Henry Greim both of Warrensburg, Mrs Harlow Saults of Concordia, Albert E Sprague of Springfield, and Mrs Lewis Corson of Windsor, with whom she made her home since the death of her husband on Feb. 2, 1927. One child died in infancy. In 1876 Mr and Mrs Sprague settled on a farm 12 miles south of Warrensburg, where they lived for 35 years. In 1910 they moved to Warrensburg where they lived until Mr Sprague's death. Besides the children she leaves 19 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Mrs E.J.Williams of Wasrrensburg, Mrs W. I. Van Blarcum of Centerview, and Mrs Anna Smith of Lubboch, Texas, 2 brothers Jake Sproat of Hawaii, and T.E.Sproat of Warrensburg. Funeral services were held at Pleasant Grove Church with burial in the church cemetery beside her husband. Pall bearers were 6 grandsons, Dean Greim and Lee Saults of K.C, William Sprauge of Springfield, William Powers , Hugh Kimsey and Kenneth Greim of Warrensburg.
