Francis Marion Lance married Esther Clay Durham b. Jan 2 1845 GA (Easter in the 1860 census of Douglas Co MO)
+Francis Marion Lance b. Feb 4 1838 White Co TN (marriage July 2 1865)
*Francis Marion Lance retired in the Texas State Confederate Home in Austin, Travis Co TX. He stated on his Confederate Pension Application that he had married Solon Durham's sister and that Solon had lost two brothers to the Civil War. He also said he had a daughter who lived near Solon and Mary Durham at the time of the application which I now think would be Eastland Co TX. His daughter stated to him that Solon was very feeble. Francis Marion Lance is the son of Anthony Lance and Rosanna Simeral. His sister Louvicy who was a twin, married Calvin Murray in SE MO and had son Joseph F. Murray who was a witness on Mr. Lance's pension application. Joseph stated that he had known Francis Lance all his life, that Francis had been partly reared by his sister and her husband. There is a possiblility that these Durhams' were in SE MO from 1860-1868. Joseph Murray and his uncle, Francis Marion Lance were raised in Madison Co MO where Solon Durham was stationed.
