Arch Salts and family, his brothers in law Shields and family, and others, came from Tenn to Missouri in a covered wagon sometime in the early 1880’s. They settled in Bois D’Arc, MO obtaining land from the Homestead Act.

On his death certificate it names his parents as Allen and Sarah Erwin Salts.
Death Notice - Arch Salts, 31 March 1921
Arch Salts, aged 70 years, died Monday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs C. H. Moomaw, 721 Monroe Street. His is survived by one daughter and four sons. Funeral services with be at Clear Creek at 2 o’clock this afternoon, followed by interment in Clear Creek cemetery under direction of the Paxson Undertaking company. The decedent lived in Greene County for forty years, coming here from tennessee in 1880. THe surviving children are Mrs. C.H. Moomaw 721 Monroe Street, and William, Charley and Arthur Salts of Springfield and James Salt of Bois D’Arc
