I'm not sure if Jessee was a nickname, however, everything else matched up and I'm sure this is the same family. It could be that Daise was heard and written as Jessee. Don't have a clue.

On the 1930 census both men have been identified as "W" for widowed. However, Joseph's wife and son were still living in Corydon down the road from grandparents, David and Anna Salts, who were living on the other end of Market Street.
