In the name of God amen, I Mary Looney of the County of Hawkins and State of Tennessee Being weak of body but of Sound mind and Memory and Calling to mind the oncartenty of Life and the Cartenty of Deth Do make and ordain & Constitute this to be my Last Will and testimont - revoking all former wils and tistiments by me made first recommending my soul into the hands of almighty God whoe gave it Secondly that my body be Decently buried by my Executer in a Christen Like manner thirdly that my Just Debts to be paid by my Executer out of my Estate and as to the Goods of this World which it has been please God to bless me with I wish to bee Disposed of in the following manner first my wish and Desier is that my Black Woman Charlet Bee Set free after my Deth By hir Complying with the Law in Such Case maid and provided and that my Executer use all Lawful means in his power to purcure hir a mansepation and freedom I Give and bequeath to my Grand Children Children of my sun Benjemin Looney Decest one Doller Eaquelly among them I Give and Bequeath to my sun John Looney five Dollers I Give and Bequeath to my sun Isam Looney ten Dollers in Cluding five Dollers which I am in Due him I Give and Bequath to my Grand Children Children of my Sun Robert Looney Deceast one Doller Eaquelly among them I Give and Bequath to Alzira Mullens and Metildy Looney Daughter of my Sun Absalum Looney all my Cubbart Wair of Eavery Discription I Will and Bequath to my Sun Absalum Looney all my hausehold and kitchin furniture of avery kind and all my Stock of avery kind andfarming utensuls and Grain and Eavery thing Els that I may Die pursest of By his paying the above Bequeath Sums and my funeral Expences the Bequeth Sums to Bee paid in Eighteen months after my Decease haveing full Confidence inthe intagerty of my Sun Absolum Looney Doe Nominate and appoint him my Executer to this my Last Will and Testament it is also my wish and Desier that he Not bee Bound in Security for the Execution of said ExecuterShip Beleaveing that he will in all things act faithful in Testimony whair of Ithe sd Mary Looney have heeronto Set my hand and Seal this 20th of November1830 hir Attest Signed Sealed and Mary x Looney (SEAL) acknowledged in presents mark of James Johnson J. To-wit: "Benjamine Looney, b. c1756, was killed in Indian Wars at Cumberland Gap in 1783; m. Mary Johnston who died 1830 in Hawkins Co., Tenn. Her will, dated Nov. 20, 1830, was witnessed by James and J. L. Johnson, of Hawkins County; Executor, Absalom Looney. "Issue: "A. Benjamine Looney, b. c1774 - d. ante Nov. 20, 1830; m. Oct. 20, 1792, Mary Galbraith. "B. John Looney, b. c1776, living Nov. 20, 1830; m. Mary Garrison "C. Isham Looney, b. 1775-8 in Tennessee, living at time of his mother's will; m. Ann (Or Annie) ---, b. 1781 in Virginia. She was a widow living in St. Clair Co., Mo. 1860. "D. Robert Looney, b. c1780 - d. ante his mother's will. The 1830 census of Hawkins County lists widow Margaret Looney with 1 daughter and 1 son who was probably wife of Robert. "E. Absalom Looney, b. 1782 in Tennessee - d. 1860 in Boissier Parish, La.; m. (1) c1803, Nancy Long; m. (2) 1818, Eleanor (Nellie) Wilson. They had a son Benjamine whose son Benjamin F. Looney was an attorney of Greenville, Tex.; served as that state's Attorney General. "F. possibly Jesse Looney, to whom Isham Looney made deed for 72 acres of land in Stanley Valley Aug. 10, 1902, described as, "it being a part of the tract the widow Looney now lives on".
