1860 - After her second husband died, Sally is listed at the head of the household in the 1860 census of Green Co., MO., with sons Arthur and Isaac.
1875, 27 December - Sarah conveyed to her son William M. Looney her interest in the land from Isaac. She later lived with her son Arthur.
Notes for Isaac (Spouse 1)
The Looney family first migrated southwest into Indian land in northern Alabama. But later, Isaac and Sally migrated to Missouri, probably with his parents and siblings, buying land in Monroe Co. around 1828.
In 1839 he was appointed administrator of his father John’s estate.
Isaac’s will, dated November 30 1842, and proved February 6, 1843 left all his property to his wife Sally, unless and until she should remarry. At such marriage the personal property was to be sold and the proceeds equally divided among his wife and children’ the lands were to be similarly divided without a sale. To his son James Calvin he bequeathed $100.00 for an education. The witnesses to the will were B. A. Jones and J.S Owen. No executor was named in Isaac’s will. He left all his property to his wife, Sally, unless she should remarry. Sally was left to administer the estates of Isaac and John.
Isaac was buried in the front yard of his own 160 acre home place. His Missouri home place was purchased in 1838 and is approximately 20 miles NW of Springfield, near Walnut Grove, MO. His name was on the stone and was still legible in 1963. The 60 acre tract is located on Section 15, Twp. 30, Range 23.
After Sally married John Saunders, the court appointed B.A. Jones as the administrator. The personal property totaled $3,191.00 that the widow and each of the 10 children received, or were entirled to receive.
Notes for John (Spouse 2)
He didn’t live long after they were married.
