CLAUDE - Gene Cayton, 75, died Monday, May 18, 1998.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Claude Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Crumpton, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle, in Amarillo.
Mr. Cayton was born in Armstrong County. He was a farmer and a member of First United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Zachry Cayton, in 1980. He married Nancye Jane Jones in 1981.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Gene Cayton Jr. of Amarillo, Keith Cayton of Phoenix and Neal Cayton of Billings, Mont.; and 12 grandchildren.
The family will be at 5011 W. 53rd Ave. in Amarillo.

Claude – Mrs. Mary Ann Cayton, 57, died Monday.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Claude Cemetery, with the Rev. Loyd Futch, pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons funeral Directors.
Mrs. Cayton, born in Happy, had lived in Claude 35 years. She married Gene Cayton in 1946 in Clovis, N.M. and was a member of First United Methodist church.
Survivors include her husband, Gene, three sons, Gene Gayton of Amarillo, Keith Cayton of Greely, Colo., and Neal Cayton of Claude, three sisters, Miss Ruby Zachry Davis of Canyon, Emogene Cobb of Silverton and Norma Zell Doizer of Texarkana, Tex., three brothers, Dellus Zachry of Roy, N.M. , Clarance Zachry of Hugo, Okla, and Blake Zachry of Silverton, Okla., and three grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be to the American Cancer Society.
