The Rice family property is located by the following deed recorded in Deed Book O, p. 208: Anderson Williams of Caswell County to Lewis Shepherd of same, for $220 382 1/4 ac S. Fork of County Line Creek adj Henry Williams, Alexander Kerr now Thomas Johnson, Nathaniel Rice, Archibald Rice, Leonard Brown now Thomas Brown - being a part of grant to John Rice Sen. dec'd of 640 acres in 1779 of which above mentioned Nathaniel Rice has 200 a conveyed by John Rice Sen. and said Anderson Williams conveyed 57 3/4 a of said grant to Archibald Rice. 10 March 1806 Wit: William Gooch Sen., Archibald Rice

1820 - In 1820, Samuel Pittard named Archibald Rice as executor of his estate in Caswell County, NC. Samuel is the progenitor of the Georgia Pittards.
It is not known when Zibba Bush died. However, Elizabeth Rice, grandmother of Archibald W. Rice, was living in the Rice household in Newton County, Ga. on the 1860 Census. Her age is given as 77.
