Notes for Lewis TADLOCK
Lewis’ name first appears in the Washington County records about 1788. He owned over 500 acres of land on Lick Creek and several slaves. Lewis died in 1815, naming his wife Jane (Blair) in his will. Many of Lewis’ descendants remained in Washington and Greene counties. On son, James Taklock, moved to Scotland County, Missouri, in 1848. That year, Henderson and Rebecca Mullins Brown made the same move.
