He was a cordwainer (ropemaker), he departed Germany 16 September 1751 for “The Carolinas” in English ship Edinburg for Philadelphia with wife Anna Christine Hammenn and five children. After arrival they joined the family of Anna’s sister Maria Eva (Hammenn) Braun in East Cocalico, Lancaster County, PA.
