John White (son of Christian White Jr. and Elizabeth Stonebraker) was born in 1770 in VA or PA. He died on August 4, 1850 in Embreeville, Washington County, TN. He was a helper in the blacksmith shop of Nancy’s grandfather, Jacob Brown “The Dutchman of Limestone.” He sired Nancy Brown’s daughter Elizabeth out of wedlock, fled Washington County jurisdiction to avoid payment of child maintenance. Circuit court at Carter County ordereed property there to be siezed to satisfy judgement. Later he was charged with brother William for horse stealing. John was acquitted, William setenced to hang.
