Notes for Andrew Jackson "Jack" BALL
Notes from Jo Ann McRee: A J's first wife has not been found, but it is known that he had 11 children with her. A.J. was very tall and my great uncle said he was a good cook. He was a farmer all of his life and I've been told he was a good man. He attended Stone Dam Methodist church with his wife Margaret "Maggie", and she continued worshiping there after his death and taught Sunday School. They are buried together in the cemetary in back of Stone Dam Church I've seen their headstones (His side of the stone only reads A.J.). Margaret was very short in stature, was well liked and respected. Their son Clarence (my great grandpa) and Clarence's wife, Carrie Jeffers Ball are also burried in the Cemetary in back of Stone Dam Church. My great uncle Ball lives very close to that church and he and his family have always attended there, I went there occasionaly as a little girl-we kind of attended different churches and would visit family after service. I have a picture of Clarence and Carrie when they were young, and a picture of Andrew and Maggie in their old age. A.J. and his son, Clarence, both died in 1940. My great uncle told me he thought Clarence died of cancer but that "people wouldn't come right out and talk about cancer back then."
