In her younger years she taught school in Cotulla and was married to Marcellus Talbot. He
was shot and killed. During World War II she worked in Washington D.C. I know she was
married to a Porter for a short time, but never knew him. When she returned to Texas she
worked in Laredo and retired back to Cotulla to the old McMahon home, which she gave to
the La Salle County Historical Commission for the use as a museum.
