Obituary---The home of Andrew Jackson Saultz was broken up when on July 8, 1930 he was taken from his earthly home at Sevierville, Tenn., to his home in Heaven with his loved ones preceding him. He was born August 30, 1860 at Wear’s Cove, living there until young manhood, he moved with his parents to Blount County near Maryville where he resided until later he moved near Townsend where he was united in marriage to Miss Malissa Kathryn Hodge, and to this union were seven children, two preceding them when very young, and five left to mourn the going of their father and mother, as the mother died March 6, 1929. The children are Mr. John Saultz of near Sevierville; Mrs. George Martin, Mrs. L.J. Seaton of Maryville, and Mrs. R.L. Marshall of Newport and Mrs. W.O. Spangler of Alcoa. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Giles Walker of Maryville. About 28 years ago he with his family moved to Sevierville, near Henderson Springs where he lived until his death.

The deceased was known to his friends and relatives in Blount County as "Jack Saultz," the name given him by friends. He was very quiet and energetic and a prosperous farmer, spending his entire life laboring hard to achieve wealth and prosperity of which he was indeed successful to his last days. He and his wife were made happy to have their children around them in the home and to know they were all on roads of success in life.

He was the youngest child of Alexander and Perneda Waters Saultz, the parents preceding him several years ago. The deceased was a member of the Coker Hill Primitive Baptist Church, from early life until death.

The funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday morning, at 10:30, July 9, by Rev. W.C. McMillan of Newport and Rev. L.S. Carnes of Townsend. The pallbearers were his neighbors and flower girls were granddaughters and cousins, they were Mrs. Lora Rhyne McMillan, Mrs. Grace Rhyne Jenkins, Mrs. Blanche LeQuire Rhyne, Misses Vestenia Saultz and Agnes Nuchols.

The body was laid to rest under a blanket of beautiful flowers at Henderson Chapel by the side of his wife who had preceded him. The cemetery being in sight of the home where the two had labored so faithfully together until God called them home, to await in that happy land, not perhaps, far, far, away, but perhaps nearer at hand than we have thought, the coming of those loved ones whom they have left behind." --His Friend. 285
