Laura Henry was the only daughter of Virginia "Jennie" Salts and Bradley Henry. Laura loved horses at a young age and was an outstanding rider. She showed and trained horses for many years. Her grandfather Andrew Johnson Salts had a fine horse farm and this may have contributed to Laura's love of horses when she was young. Laura never married and was very independent. She was a nurse and served as a nurse during World War II. In her later years, she lived by herself on her parent's farm in Abingdon, VA. In her later years she was very crippled from arthritis. Laura died and was buried in Abingdon, VA. The Henry's had a farm on Henry Road in Abington, where she lived until she died. When she died the farm was sold and the house was torn down.461
