1953, February 5th - Obituary - [The following data was taken from a news clipping that was found in the family bible of Newton A. Salts. There was no date or name of the paper written on the news clipping.]
Lizzie Saults, 70 died at 8 pm. yesterday at the home of Mrs Minnie J. Cargille. route 3, Jonesboro, where she had lived for more than 50 years. There are no survivors. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 am at the Appalachian Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. George W Phelps will officiate. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery on Cherokee Road. She was a member of the Christian Church.

Death Certificate - Lizzie's death certificate confirms all of the dates and information given in her biographical sketch. It said that she was born in Tennessee and died in Jonesboro (rural), Washington County, District 5, Tennessee. Her occupation was house work and she was a domestic home help. Her parents' names were given as "unknown". The informant was W. H. Jones of Jonesboro. He was the son of James H. and Dora B. Jones where Lizzie lived and worked for 50 years.
