Obituary - "Honored Brock Citizen Dies"
John Franklin Hall, a highly respected citizen of the Brock community, died at the family home Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The deceased was in his 61st year, haveing been born n Oakland, Calif., September 30, 1860. When he was a young man, he came to Texas and lived a few years in Brownwood. Thirty-six years ago he came to Parker County and settled on a farm near where he died. On January 17, 1885, he was married to Miss Drucella Brashears, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. (Uncle Billy) Brashears who survives. To this union nine children were born, eight of whom are living as follows: John, Jess and Eddie Hall of Summerton, Arizona: Miss Myrtle Hall of Motley County; Mrs. Mable Roberts, Paducah; Miss Annie Hall and Clyde Hall of Brock and Milton Hall of Geronimo, Okla. William F. Hall died last years. He is also survived by one brother, Georgge T. Hall of this city and one sister, Mrs. Jane Monroe, of Long Beach, Calif. Mr. Hall was well and favorable known in this county. His father, Col. M.S. Hall, lived several years in this section of the state and was one of the contractors who built the Texas & Paccific railroad into Weatherford. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Star at the time of his death, holding his membership at Brock. Funeral services werer held Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Internment was in the Brock cemetery.1252
