On the 1900 census it says that Herman was 4/12 months old. The census was taken on the 12th of June 1900, which means he was born in April by this census.

1900, September - Death / Burial (possibly the 7th)
It is knows that George died sometime shortly after the 1900 census was taken, which was the 12th of June 1900. The date of 7th of September 1900 can be found on the Internet in Ancestry.com’s Family Tree files, but there is no documentation showing where this date came from. From what I have found, he was buried in Christian County - a county that had no early death records. George was buried in a joint plot with his mother and his brother Tom, in Glenn Cemetery, Highlandville, Christian County, Missouri. The stone is inscribed as: Saltz, Mother - George - Tom. There are no dates given for any of the three.

Cemetery notes and/or description:
Located between Nixa and Highlandville. Highway 13/160 to Riverdale Drive, west 6/10 mile, then left 1/10 mile on an unpaved access road to the cemetery.
