1884, March 3rd - Missouri Death Certificate - The name of the physician on William’s death certificate was L. C. Miller [Dr. Lee Miller was the doctor who rode with Quantrill’s Raiders. He lived in Knob Noster next door to my gr grandfather D.N. Saults. Eliza Rucker’s two children were both named after Dr. Miller as well - Charles Lee and Lena Alice Saults. Also, Elizabeth Rucker can be found on the census with William in 1870 and 1880. We know she was sent to “cousins” after the death of her parents during the Civil War.]
Notes for America (Spouse 1)
1821, June 28th - born in Kentucky

1850-1860 - William Wells and America Byland married sometime during this period -most probably in Missouri, since William’s family had been living there long before these dates.

1891, August 28th - She has a grave stone in Knob Noster, Missouri, which has her birth date carved on it, but not her death date. After the death of her husband she married second to Silas Arbigast [spelled Arbogast in the records]. This information came from the Knob Noster Cemetery, Johnson County, Missouri.
