Harold L. Salts - PORT ORANGE, FLA.

PORT ORANGE, Fla. — Harold L. Salts, 69, 6109 Sequoia Drive, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Salts was a Washington County, Tenn., native and had lived in the Daytona Beach area since 1972. He was a son of the late William and Jennie Kelsey Salts.

He was a Korean War and Vietnam War Air Force veteran, retiring after 21 years of service.

Mr. Salts retired from hotel management in 1998.

He was a Presbyterian and attended Living Waters Church, Daytona Beach.

Mr. Salts was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elcie Magdalene Estep Salts; two daughters, Teresa D. Cunningham, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Sandra J. Salts, Daytona Beach; one son, Donald Keith Salts, South Daytona; one sister, Stella Lowe, Johnson City, Tenn.; two granddaughters; two grandsons; two stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Harold L. Salts, 69, 6109 Sequoia Drive, Port Orange, Fla., who died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, will be conducted Friday, May 2, 2003, at 8 p.m. in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Smith and the Rev. E.Y. Bailey officiating. Special music will provided by Amanda Bolin, Mr. Salts’ granddaughter. Graveside committal services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2003, at 10 a.m. in Monte Vista Burial Park. Full military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard, Shaw Air Force Base, S.C. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those planning to attend the committal service are to meet at the cemetery Saturday by 9:45 a.m. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. in the East Parlor of the funeral home. Mr. Salts is survived by his wife, Elcie Magdelene Estep Salts, of the home; two daughters, Teresa D. Cunningham, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Sandra J. Salts, Daytona Beach; one son, Donald Keith Salts, South Daytona; one sister, Stella Lowe, Johnson City, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Amanda Bolin and Jaclyn Bolin, both of Cheyenne; two grandsons, Kristopher Salts and Logan Salts, both of South Daytona; two stepgrandchildren, Julie and Andrew Cunningham, both of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
