Pascal Pickett Hall Dead: He was a Pioneer Miller and Had Lived in Missouri Over Sixty Years.
Pascal Pickett Hall, an old settler Jackson County, who lived with his family at 4001 Baltimore Avenue, but spent a great deal of time on his farm near Lenexa, Johnson County, Kansas, was found dead in his chair on the veranda of the farm house at the latter place about 1 o’clock yesterday afternoon. Death resulted from heart failure and had evidently been quick and painless.

Mr Hall was born near Richmond, Va in 1827 and was connected through his mother with the famous Pickett family of the Old Dominion. He came West when he was 14 years old, settling in Lewis County, Mo. He learned the railing trade and ten years later located at Hickman’s Mills in this county, where he was married to Miss Eliza Whitsett. He was the only miller that historic plant ever had During the war Mr. Hall lived in Johnson County, Mo., where he ran a mill of his own near Warrensburg. He was exempt from military services for soldiers were plenty but millers were scarce. After the war he came back to Johnson County and had lived here and in Johnson County, Kansas, ever since. He had lived in Westport about six years.

His widow and three children survive him. The children are Miss Julia Hall assistant principal of the Hide park schools; William Hall postmaster at Station B, and Samuel Hall a lawyer at Claremore R.M.

The body was brought to Kansas City last night, but funeral arrangements will not be made until the arrival of his sons, Samuel from Indian Territory, and William, who is sending his vacation in Platte County, MO.
