Her brother Joe remembered that he was 2 1/2 when she entered the convent. And it is thought that Margaret was about 16 years old at that time. Her records indicate that she most likely attended the old St. Patrick's Parish School at 8th and Cherry Street, and that she was taught by the Sisters of Mercy. It is thought that she endtered the Sisters of Mercy at 6th and Cherry Streets Motherhouse sometime around January 1901. She received the religious habit there as well on July 16, 1901.
She was first given the name of Sister Mary Agnes -probably in honor of the Reverand Mother M. Agnes- who, it is believed, taught Margaret in school. It is known that Mother M. Agnes died in 1899.
Margaret Professed on April 13, 1903, probably at the then, Motherhouse at St. Agnes Academy, Hardesty and Scarrit avenues, northeast Kansas City, Missouri.
At the time of the union of three motherhouses in 1911, there were two Sister Agnes Lynch's, the one from Joplin being the senior. So, Sr. M Agnes Lynch of Kansas City became known as "Inez" -Spanish for "Agnes".
Margaret died on the 23 of June in 1917 from peritonitus that set in after an appendix operation; she was 32 years old at death.
There is a photo of Sister M. Inez that was included in the oldest St. Agnes Academy "alumnae composite".

513On the cemetery records of Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery Sister Mary Inez (Margaret) seems to be the only one of the Lynch family left who is buried there. The rest of her family were removed on the 7th of July in 1939 and buried in the Forest Hill / Calvary Cemetery on Troost Avenue. It looks like when they went to bury the father somekind of a decision was made to bury him at Calvary Cemetery. The rest of the family in 1939.
