Notes for James Henry HALL
When James and Lucy’s granddaughter, Lucy Hall Covey died, her son accidentally gave her grandparent’s names, not her parent’s names. The names given were James Henry Hall and Lucy Ann Pickett. Although this was a mistake, it again confirmed that Jame and Lucy Pickett Hall of Virginia were her grandparents.

There is a Thomas Hall who is in and around the same area of Virginia. He has been tagged as a possible father of James Hall, but it is only speculation. His name has been suggested in one source titled “Virginia Footprints” by Tom Hooker. Hooker shows that a Thomas Hall has activity with the Mace Pickett family and is somehow related. It is also known that Thomas Hall's father has been documented as a John Hall, so if there was a lineage, it would be James, Thomas, and John. More information can be obtained from Tom Hooker's book mentioned above. Even so, to date, there has been no documented finds as to the parents of James Hall.

It has been documented that James and Lucy had eleven boys and no girls. Seven of the boys names are known, and out of those seven, only five have been solidly documented. Sons Charles and James Henry have never been found. It has also been recorded that all eleven boys were born in Virginia, and that sometime around 1826 the family relocated to the Adair / Lincoln / Mercer county areas of Kentucky. However, if the fact is correct, that all of the eleven boys were born in Virginia, then the family probably didn’t completely migrate until sometime after 1827 to 1828.

1 male 10 to 15 (born between 1825 - 1830 - Pascal)
3 males 15 to 20 (born between 1820 - 1825 - Milton?, Matthew and Charles???)
1 female 40 to 50 (Lucy, herself)

[I have Milton listed living with his mother, but there are very strong signs that indicate him possibly living in Marion County, Missouri with his brother Peter - only speculation on my part. So if that's the case, then there are two unkown boys living with their mother.]
