In consideration of $500.00 paid us by Joseph P. Houchins, receipt hereby acknowledged, and $1191 payable 25th December 1858 by said Houchins as witnessed by this note. We James H. Rucker; William Gibbs and Judith Ann Gibbs, his wife; Jeremiah V. Harrison and Rebecca Harrison, his wife; William T. Dawson and Mary Katharine Dawson, his wife of Anderson Co., KY; and James H. Raines and Elizabeth Raines, his wife of Indiana; and [John G.] Rucker and Harriett Rucker, his wife; and Joseph E. Rucker and Eliza Rucker, his wife; and Charles E. Rucker and Margaret Rucker, his wife; LeGrand F. Rucker and Harriet Rucker, his wife; Willis T. Rucker of the state of Missouri, heirs at law of Ephraim Rucker, deceased, of Anderson Co., KY, have sold and hereby convey general warranty to said Houchins a tract of land in Anderson Co., KY, on the waters of Benson, known as the farm of Ephraim Rucker, deceased, containing 112 3/4 acres by survey and bounded thus: Beginning at a stone in Enoch Yeates Line, thence N 88 E 254 Poles to 2 beech trees on the west bank of the Big Benson, thence up the same with its meanders 199 poles to the mough of the hunting branch. Continued up the creek 19 Poles, to 2 elms and a water beech, thence S 75 M 144 to beeches corner to Yeates, thence N 200 Poles to the beginning. To have and to hold with the appurtenances to said Houchins, his heirs, forever. Wherefore we have subscribed our names the 8th day of May, A.D. 1858.
