Maryville Times, (Blount Co. TN) Friday, October 6, 1905:
"Los Angeles, California---A very beautiful home wedding occurred at the home of Dr. & Mrs. J.M. Saults, former residents of Maryville, Tenn., on Saturday, Sept. 23rd when their daughter, Miss Nettie, was united in marriage to Mr. Richard L. Walling of Ocean Park, California. Miss Nettie left Maryville one year ago, coming with her parents to locate in the west. She has gained many friends in Los Angeles who all join in wishing them a long and happy life.
Mr. Walling is a well known newspaper man, residing in Ocean Park. He also has many friends in Los Angeles, as well as in some parts of the east. After the ceremony, which was performed in the presence of many relatives and friends, the bride and groom left for his home in Ocean Park where a reception awaited them. We with other friends join in wishing them a long and happy life together."
