At the home of F. M. Monroe, Monrovia, Cal. February 27, 1902, very suddently, Jane C. Tolle, wife of the late G. W. Sevier and beloved mother of Mrs. F. M Monroe, S.M. and Dr, R.E.L. Sevier of Monrovia, M.L. Sevier of Los Angeles, and M.N. Sevier of Dallas, Texas aged 79 years, 5 months and 6 days.
The funeral services werer held Sunday, March 2, at 2:30 p.m. from the residence of F.M. Monroe conducted by Reb. A.L. Wadsworth, who gave a selected scripture reading and gave an appropriate address. A quartette composed of Miss Barden, A.M. Shrode and Messrs. Cowan Rherman sang those beautiful old hyms, "Sweet Hour of Prayer," "Sweet Bye and Bye" and ""Beautiful Garden of Eden." Internment was made in Live Oak Cemetery.
Mrs. Sevier was a native of Farquier County, Virginia, but was one of the pioneer settlers in Marion County, Missouri, where she resided until a short time previous to her death, and was identified with the early history of that county. Mrs. Sevier and her husband spent two years in Monrovia witht heir children and witnessed the old exciting boom days. She was a devoted Christian wife and mother, and is mourned by a large circle of friends.
