Notes for Salvania Victory PAGE
(Sam Matthews) In my family line, it was said that Salvania was 1/4 Cherokee Indian, but it looks like she may have been 1/16.

(granddaughter, Pauline Victoria Matthews Bishop) Salvania was a midwife and died near Electra while out on a call. Her team ran away with her buggy, which fell on top of her.579

(Gene Cayton, grandson) Sylvania Victory Page was full-blood Cherokee Indian, born in Mississippi, December 22, 1866. Gene Cayton thinks she died giving birth to male child that ended up being raised by his aunt, Sally Earl. However, as the story goes, the child died as an infant. If a child had been born, it would have been born on or around the 19th of February 1900, which does kind of add up. However, on the 1900 census Sally is still living at home and there is no mention of a baby boy.580

(Kathy Seay Spires - granddaughter of Mamie Matthews) When Sylvania died, Earl took Maime and an infant son to raise. The child died shortly after, possibly of a childhood illness. I don’t know his name.525

Salvania and A. R. moved to Wichita County in the late 1890s because A. R.’s brother was there.
Notes for Arthur Isiah “A.R.” (Spouse 1)
On the report on Physician’s Record Search it has his birthday marked out and the date of 11 February 1858 written in. There is also an astrix by the date. Down at the bottom of the form under number six, the astrix says that he claims his place of birth as Kentucky 9,88. Don’t really know what that means. But have recorded it as was written on the form.

His date of birth has been recorded nearly different on every document he's associated with. So I don't have a clue. However, he does seem to have 1858 coming up more often than other years.
